MAC Spring Makeup Collections Part Deux

I'm kind of skipping around with the color forecasts and doing the collections I love the most first. I promise I'll get to all the collections, but I had to go past the #2 color collection and hit #3 because it's the purple collection and next to pink, it's my favorite color. Not counting black, of course. Sometimes I even like purple more than pink because it seems more sophisticated sometimes. A bit more understated, when you're trying to be sassy but classy and you don't want to overpower anyone with your unmoderated fabulousness.

MAC Spring Color 3 Forecast

Radiccio – When I first saw this color I was like “eh”, but I’ve grown to really like it. It’s a Lustre so it’s kind of glossy and shimmery, which I love with muted colors like this. You know I’m all about the neutral trend, and this goes beautifully with the nudes of the season, adding a bit of color but not at all in a loud way.

Hang-up – I REALLY do not like this color. I have several deep purple/burgundy MAC lipsticks that are better than this, like Dark Side for example. It seems a bit lighter than the ones I have, but I’m just not digging it. I guess I’m just out of the dark lipstick no eye makeup phase I was in for awhile. However, this shade could look awesome on someone with a darker skin tone than mine, so maybe I should shut up. Anyway, it’s a Cremesheen, which is more opaque than Lustre but still shiny, hence the “sheen” in the name.

Purple Rage – With this collection they only put out two lipstick shades, so I’m moving on to the Lipglass shades. I’m not a huge fan of Lipglass, it has awesome staying power but is so prone to getting hair stuck in it. It’s just so sticky, I prefer a smoother less “I just blew this dude in a back alley” feel to my lip gloss. But if I was going to wear Lipglass, this would be one of my picks. I really love the shimmer on this.

Lavender Wind – Can’t really get down with this Lipglass. It’s pretty sheer, so with the metallic-y iridescence, it just reminds me of something a classic Star Trek “sexy” female automaton would have on, and not in a good way. If you’re into the “I haven’t taken a breath in over 4 minutes” look, however, knock yourself out.

Vintage Grape Blush Ombre – Blush Ombre is this new thing MAC has, where the blush is a graduated shade blending in to two similar colors, like (duh) ombre dyeing. I thought I’d include it here to introduce you to the formula. It comes in other shades that are better, in my opinion. I think this particular one is pretty in the pot, but I’m not sure how it would do on the face. Maybe I should walk down to the store at lunch and see if they have it there. I’ll report back. Well, I probably won’t, actually. So scratch that.

There’s still 3 more MAC spring makeup collections, including one from Liberty of London that has some really cute packaging. More to come…

    HA. Snob.

I really like Hang Up. Have you seen this color in real life? It looks a bit more red based than Film Noir, but deeper than Media. Film Noir always turns kind of purple on me and this color might get the reddish brown effect I'm looking for.

I still own Lipglass, don't worry. Haha. Viva Glam IV i think. One of the Viva Glams. I also used to put C-Thru over everything. My hair gets caught in Lipglass when I have it hanging.

I think Hang Up would be awesome on you. If I remember correctly it's got the purple undertone though. Tomorrow when I have cash I'll go across the street and investigate again.
