I apologize for my extended absence, everyone! As usual, I’ve been dealing with personal drama so it hasn’t afforded me the time to write here. But I am over at Bitch Magazine doing the Sex and the Fat Girl column, so if you haven’t checked that out yet, please do so! Also, I got a webcam so I’m going to answer the “Ask Ms. Fierce” questions via video very soon.
[...] a funny yet thought-provoking look at how society’s obsession with weight, race, class and gender stereotypes affect us all!
Through personal vignettes, anecdotes and video clips, “Fat Bitch!” offers a humorous and honest glimpse at the American “fat and sassy” black woman stereotypes that continue to influence modern day images of black women. Written and performed by Watson as a hybrid of theater and stand-up comedy, “Fat Bitch!” responds to how black women and their bodies have always been subjected to sexualized admiratin and ridicule.
Plainly put, “Fat Bitch!” targets society’s racial, gender, class and body prejudices through a comedic performance that is educational and entertaining all at once!
